GA Envirothon Aquatics Station 
  • Using a secchi disk to measure water quality/turbidity
  • Measuring the temperature of water and know at what levels aquatic life can be supported
  • Measuring Dissolved Oxygen and pH using the LaMotte tablet dissolving test kit – know what levels support aquatic life
  • Be able to identify the fish species provided in the study materials
  • Be familiar with the categories of macro=invertebrates on the Adopt-A-Stream worksheet found in the study materials
  • Know which species are tolerant, some-what tolerant and sensitive
  • Stream Orders – Know how to label a diagram with stream orders.
  • Also, know what the orders indicate. Ex: Would a stream order of 8 indicate a large or small stream?What is the highest stream order?
